Frequently Asked QuestionsQ1: Do you have to enter all the sponsors in the app before the player enters their shots in the app's scoreboard?
A1: No, sponsors can be added either before, during, or after the player enters their shots in the app's scoreboard. Q2: What if the player enters their shots incorrectly in the app's scoreboard? A2: Negative shots can be entered into the scoreboard to cancel out shots entered in error. Note that there is a -20 limit for makes and misses for each score entered into the scoreboard. Q3: How can you delete a player from the app's roster? A3: You can delete a player either on the player management page by entering the player's name (case sensitive) and selecting the Delete button. Alternatively, on the team roster screen you can left swipe on the player's name to delete the player. Q4: When you delete a player, does it also remove all the sponsors associated with the player or do you also need to delete the sponsors separately? A4: When you delete a player it automatically removes all of the player's sponsors and all of the player's shots data from within the app. Q5: Can you delete an entire team? A5: Yes, it is possible to delete an entire team and all of the players' data. The user must have the pin number that was used to create the team in order to delete the entire team. This pin number would typically be held by the coach or team manager to prevent players from accidentally deleting the entire team and all of it's data. Q6: How many teams can you create within the app? A6: You can create as many teams as you need. For instance, you may want to create a team name for each level of your program such as for varsity, JV, and freshmen teams. Q7: How many players can you enter on a team roster? A7: You can enter up to 50 players per team. Q8: How long will my team's data remain in the Free Throws-4-Funds app database? A8: The retention period for each team's data is 1 year. If you need a different retention period please contact us. Q9: Do you need an Apple iCloud account to use the app? A9: Yes, because Free Throws-4-Funds stores your team data securely in an Apple iCloud database you need to have an Apple iCloud account to use this app. You need to be logged into your iCloud account to store and retrieve data in the Free Throws-4-Funds app. See Q12 below for additional help. Q10: How do we collect the sponsors donations for our event? A10: We want you to keep all of your donations. The texting feature built into Free Throws-4-Funds makes it easy to notify your sponsors of the pledged donations they owe. The event's text message can be easily tailored to point to your team's website, or payment platform, to collect your donations. Refer to the "Sending Sponsors Texts" videos above for steps on how to personalize the event text message. No IT skills are required. Of course you can also collect payments manually via cash or check if you choose. In either case, Free Throws-4-Funds provides a feature to help you track which sponsors have made their donations and which have not yet. What if your organization doesn't have an on-line way of collecting donations? Let us know, we would be glad to help guide you on how to set-up one. As an option, if you desire, we have a secure webpage for your sponsors to make their donations. Refer to the Donations page on our website to see how this can work for you. Please contact us beforehand if you wish to utilize our webpage donations collection process. Q11: How can you track players' shooting practice separately from a shoot-a-thon fundraising event? A11: Simply create another event in the app for the shooting practice that you want your players to track. For example, if you want your players to shoot twenty-five 3-point shots after practice for the next month you can easily create an event for your players to enter their 3-point shooting results. You can do the same thing for tracking off season shooting that you want your players to do. Q12: How do I know if my iPhone is already signed into the Apple iCloud? How do I sign into the iCloud if I'm not? A12: An Apple password is required for you to download apps from the App Store or purchase music or books. This is the same password that is required to sign into the iCloud. To see if you already signed into the iCloud select the grey gear "Settings" icon. Then select your name in the top row of the screen. On the next screen, select the "iCloud" row to see your iCloud storage usage. If you see the usage stats you are already signed into the iCloud. If you are not signed into the iCloud, when you select your name on the initial "Settings" screen you will be asked to sign into the iCloud to proceed. Enter your Apple password and you will be ready to go. Q13: Why is a Sample Event created when I register my new team? What is it used for? A13: A Sample Event is automatically created when you register your new team in the Free Throws-4-Funds app. This Sample Event is provided for free so you can try-out all the capabilities of the app before scheduling your actual shoot-a-thon event. The Sample Event is limited to adding only a total of 5 sponsors for the new team. |
